Rakul Preet Singh signs Neeraj Pandey’s Aiyaary, joins Bajpayee, Sidharth Malhotra

Actress Rakul Preet Singh has bagged a role in Neeraj Pandey’s Aiyaary. She has been roped in as the female lead in the film, which also stars Manoj Bajpayee and Sidharth Malhotra. 

The news was shared on the Twitter page of the film. It was also revealed that she plays the role of an IT (Information Technology) expert. “3rd Character in the #TeamAiyaary along with #Sid & #Manoj @Rakulpreet plays an IT pro! Does that make her a nerd?,” read the tweet. 

Speaking to a entertainment portal, she admitted that she had signed the film some time back but had to keep mum. She said, “I guess it’s official now. I am doing that film. For some time I had to keep quiet about it because producers wanted to make their own announcement.” 

This is Singh’s second Hindi film. She had made her debut in Yaariyan (2014), which was also the directorial debut of Divya Khosla Kumar. 

But Rakul has a huge body of work down south, where she is also popular. She has acted in Kannada, Tamil and Telugu films. Out of these, a large chunk is Telugu films.
