When in the mood, Salman Khan can bring the house down with his wacky sense of humour.

There's no parroting at any of Khan's press conferences. He speaks from the heart, and often his one-liners draw wide applause.

The Tubelight actor joined actresses Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt for the press conference of a popular awards do that will take place on 14 and 15 July at New York's Metlife Stadium this year.

It was a brief interaction, but Khan ensured that the media and everyone left in good spirits.

When the compere asked Kaif to give a sneak peek into her performance, she said, “No. Yes and no. I don’t know. I think choreographer Sanjay is really amazing. I have done one show with him before and he is really excited and that excitement will transfer to all of us.”

Khan quickly butted in, “She doesn’t need to worry about anything. Katrina is one of the best dancers that we have."

Khan then realised Alia Bhatt was around too. So he added diplomatically, "There’s a tie going on."

Bhatt wasn't flattered, and said, "Please, I’m terrible. I’m just cute.”  Before Bhatt said another word, Khan added, “You can’t be worse than me and I’m not even cute.”

Earlier, Khan joked how the dates of IIFA were pushed close to Kaif’s birthday, which falls on 16 July.

“From what I heard that the awards were to take place on 11 and 12 July, but they pushed them to 14 and 15 July, with the live airing (in India) taking place on 16 July. I hope Katrina invites me,” joked Khan.
