Hindi cinema has churned some songs with titles that are difficult to describe. However, the music and inexplicable dances moves turned them into chartbusters. Salman Khan’s 'Dhinka Chika' track from Wanted (2009) is a case in point. The makers of Munna Michael today unveiled a similar track titled 'Ding Dang', an electrifying dance number that will make you want to put on your dancing shoes.
The lyrics by Danish Sabri and director Sabbir Khan are not great, but they hook you. It’s difficult to explain 'Ding Dang', but the two words are often used in the context of dance numbers.
Tusshar Kapoor and Anita Hassanandani had famously grooved to the 'Dil Ding Dang Dil Dole' track in their 2003 romantic horror Kucch To Hai. Sabri and Khan have conjured up catchy lyrics that are backed by rollicking music.
The film has multiple music directors. The peppy desi beats keep you hooked on to the track. The music is backed by an impressive show from the singers — Amit Mishra and Antara Mitra. 'Ding Dang' is a joyful track, that’s aptly reflected in the voices of Mishra and Mitra.
The highlight of the song though has to be Tiger Shroff’s rivetting dance. Nidhhi Agerwal can’t match up to him and so it’s Tiger alone who lifts the this track with his freestyle Bollywood dance. It also has some Michael Jackson’s moves. Dancing on a vehicle is always a sight to behold and here Tiger and Agerwal are bringing down the roof of a bus.
'Ding Dang' will be enjoyed by those who love such numbers. Years ago, Tiger’s father Jackie Shroff had made his debut with Subhash Ghai’s Hero, which had the popular song 'Ding Dong'. The father will be proud of his son’s efforts in 'Ding Dang'. No doubt Tiger is a better dancer than his old man.
