Katrina Kaif and Ranbir Kapoor have been getting along quite well as partners in crime fighting in Anurag Basu's Jagga Jasoos. The two actors recently got together on Facebook to answer questions from fans, and came up with some very interesting remarks.
While Ranbir is still a non-entity on social media, Kaif recently joined Facebook and Instagram. The actress took over hosting duties, while Ranbir played the self absorbed guest on the entire video.
One of the first question answered was about Kaif's title 'Jugheads' which has been following her through the promotions. Kaif insisted the tag was given to her by her Tiger Zinda Hai director Ali Abbas Zafar, as she liked to eat, and was a 'little off' like the Archie's character. However, Ranbir would have none of it and countered, "But you are not a guy. You don't eat much in the film. And you are not lazy. You just kept Jugheads because I got Jagga."
Not all the conversation was hilarious. Inevitably, Ranbir had to field a question on the big 'nepotism' debate. Kapoor, who hails from a legendary lineage with grandfather Raj Kapoor and father, Rishi Kapoor, both bonafide stars, said, "It exists everywhere but more so in the film industry. But how I see it, I can only speak of my family. I believe my great grandfather worked really hard to give his children an opportunity in their professional life. I would like to work hard for my children so that they get the right opportunity, platform, the right first film. After that, it’s about your talent. So, yes, honestly, it does exist."
On other topics, both stars revealed their favourite dialogues in films. While Ranbir fronted for his Imtiaz Ali film, Rockstar (2011), Kaif chose a classic. In fact, Ranbir almost proposed to his co-star with the line saying, "Tu na badi cool lagti hai aur hot bhi hai, kamaal ka combo hai na cool hot at the same time? Aye Katrina, girlfriend bann ja meri."
Only to receive the answer right from Gone With The Wind (1939) Kaif saying, "Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn."
So much for the chemistry between them.
Jagga Jasoos is directed by Anurag Basu, and is due to be released in theatres on 14 July.
