The debut of Sara Ali Khan, daughter of Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh, has been a topic of discussion for the past few years. Sara has finally signed her first film, Abhishek Kapoor’s Kedarnath, where she will be paired with Sushant Singh Rajput. Surprisingly, father Saif is not sure if his daughter has chosen the right career for herself.
Speaking to DNA newspaper, the actor was a bit apprehensive over his daughter’s career in cinema.
“Fear is the most important driving factor in the industry. Why would she want that for herself? Look at where she studied. After having done that, why wouldn’t she want to live and work in New York rather than do this?," said Saif. Sara graduated from Columbia University in New York.
Saif, however, did not berate his profession. “I am not looking down on acting, it’s just that it is not the most stable profession. And everyone lives in constant fear. And there is no guarantee that despite doing your best, you will succeed. This is not the life any parent would want for their children," added Saif.
While his daughter is set to make her debut, Saif is gearing up for his next, Chef. The actor worked on improving his culinary skills. He says, “Director Rajeev Menon wanted me to get totally into the character so they arranged for me to go to the JW Marriott kitchen for five-six hours a day for weeks. I had to learn how to chop properly, that was important. You can’t be a chef without knowing how to hold a knife properly. And the stress walk that chefs do."
Chef will be released on 6 October.
