Shah Rukh Khan created a doodle on his visit to Paris in 1997. At that time, he would have had no idea that his piece of 'art' would become part of an auction 20 years later. His work is now all set to go under the hammer at Osian’s The Greatest Indian Show On Earth 2.
The doodle has Khan's wit and creativity at display. It contains a lot of French attributes like the French Revolution, the Eiffel Tower, French Kissing, Voltaire, Concorde, Bastille, etc. Khan has also sketched King Kong rescuing a girl by climbing the Eiffel Tower. The girl is shown shouting the iconic Hindi film dialogue, ‘Bhagwan ke liye mujhe chhod do.’ It also has a girl telling a boy, ‘Tu mera Hero no. 1.’
Speaking about the auction, Neville Tuli, founder and chairman of Osian, told a publication, “The rare sketch is more like a doodle-cum-drawing of Shah Rukh's visit to Paris. It provides a unique insight into the mind of a cinematic superstar in the making. Though estimated conservatively between Rs1.2 lakh to Rs1.80 lakh, it is expected to sell for more.”
The auction will also feature paintings, publicity materials and memorabilia of other Hindi film artists like Deepti Naval, Shefali Shah and Pankaj Parashar. It will take place on 22 June at a five star hotel in Bandra, Mumbai.
