Producer Sajid Nadiadwala made his directorial debut with good friend Salman Khan in Kick (2014). The action film, set in Poland, was an official remake of the Telugu blockbuster Kick (2009) starring Ravi Teja and Ileana D’Cruz. That film also had a sequel which released in 2015.
According to a report in Mumbai Mirror tabloid, Nadiadwala is working on a script for the second film and it would pick up from where the last one left i.e. Salman’s character Devi becoming a police officer.
While Salman will definitely be back for the sequel, it’s not clear if Randeep Hooda and Jacqueline Fernandez who had significant roles in Kick (2014) will return. Apart from Tubelight (2017) which is set to release soon, Salman is shooting for Yash Raj Films’ Tiger Zinda Hai (2017).
The Ali Abbas Zafar film, co-starring Katrina Kaif, is slated for a Christmas release this year. It seems Salman and good friend Aamir Khan are alternating the annual holiday period. Aamir starred in the blockbuster Dangal (2016) which released a few days before 25 December.
This year, Nadiadwala will produce the Judwaa sequel starring Varun Dhawan and Baaghi 2 starring Tiger Shroff. Kick 2 will reportedly begin filming in early 2019.
