Raveena Tandon recently created a stir on Twitter after posting a tweet about the saree. She posted a couple of pictures of her in a saree along with the caption, “A sareee day ... will I be termed communal,Sanghi, bhakt, hindutva icon?if I say I love wearing the saree and I think it's the most elegant.” (sic)
During a media interaction for her upcoming movie Shab, Tandon expressed how hurt she was by the backslash her tweet received. She also said that Twitter is now ruled by political parties and their supporters.
Highlighting that she is not against Twitter, she said, “It’s not about Twitter. The medium is fantastic where you can put your views across. But unfortunately it has been hijacked by political parties. Be it the BJP, AAP, Congress or any other or every party. It has become a political medium. Their supporters are found in abundance over there.”
Raveena Tandon: I am playing a role with grey shades for the first time
Tandon feels a celebrity is at the receiving end no matter what his or her stand is. “If you say something good about the country, opposition will eat you up. If you highlight something bad about the country, others will eat you up. This means you are a meal to be served. You are going to be eaten up any way,” she added.
