Amit Masurkar's Newton is generating more curiousity with every passing week. The film premiered in the Forum section of the 67th Berlin International Film Festival earlier this year, and is now ready for its India release. The makers of the film have already launched new posters today.
The first poster features a nervous Rajkummar Rao running for his life, with the EVM machine in tow. The actor plays an election officer charged with the responsibility of conducting a smooth election in a Maoist controlled area. Masurkar's film deals with the politically charged topic with a dark humour that has brought it quite the critical acclaim.
The sight of Rao, dressed incongruously in office attire and a combat helmet, adds to the hilarity of the poster. The tagline, Seedha Aadmi Ulti Duniya (honest man, crooked world) refers to the convoluted political atmosphere into which Rao's character is thrown in.
