The Sushant Singh Rajput and Rajkummar Rao films are expected to finish way below their cost of production.

After a subdued weekend at the box office, there was little hope for Raabta to earn well or even decent from the weekdays onwards. This is exactly what has happened with the Sushant Singh Rajput and Kriti Sanon-starrer. The film collected a mere Rs1.75 crore on its first Monday, which was yesterday.
Raabta’s weekend total was around Rs13.11 crore. So, its grand total so far is a meagre Rs14.86 crore. With a reported budget of around Rs55 crore, the film is now expected to finish much below that number.
The film is producer Dinesh Vijan’s directorial debut. It is a love story that deals with the theme of reincarnation. Although the promos received a decent response, the film received negative reviews and word-of-mouth, which seems to have severely affected its collections.
Ajay Pannalal’s Behen Hogi Teri, which also released alongside Raabta, has turned out to be a complete washout. The Rajkummar Rao and Shruti Haasan-starrer made a dismal Rs1.20 crore (adjusted) in the opening weekend.
Yesterday, on its first Monday, it managed only Rs20 lakh. It has so far made only Rs1.40 crore. Its reported cost of production, which is Rs15 crore, looks like a steep mountain to climb for the makers.
There are no big films releasing this week, but Raabta and Behen Hogi Teri are unlikely to benefit from the development.
