On the occasion of the release of xXx: The Return Of Xander Cage on home media, director DJ Caruso confirmed that the team would 'like to get back together'.

It seems like Deepika Padukone's Hollywood stint is going to continue. The director of Padukone's big international debut, xXx: The Return Of Xander Cage, DJ Caruso confirmed the actress's presence in the next part of the franchise.
Speaking to fans and the media at the launch of the film on home media, Caruso said, "Yeah, we’re discussing the story and how to make that all work, and which characters."
Padukone played the huntress Serena Unger in the film starring Vin Diesel, Nina Dobrev and Ruby Rose. When asked by a fan on Twitter if 'Serena Unger aka Deepika is there in #xxx4?', the director replied with an emphatic 'Oh yes!

Speaking to the international newspaper, Express, Caruso had said that the prospect of another film to add to the franchise was taken because 'It’s definitely a discussion because it did so well around the globe.' The director also promised that all of the cast in the film will be returning in the next film as well.

Caruso's film had managed a lifetime earning of $44,898,413 in the United States of America. However, the film's international earnings crossed $346,147,658, explaining Caruso's emphasis on the 'global appeal' of the film.
Padukone is currently shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavati in India, alongside Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh.
The film is expected to be released on 17 November.
