Director Dinesh Vijan’s Raabta didn’t set the cash registers ringing on its opening day. The film collected approximately Rs4.61 crore on Friday. This, coupled by the negative word-of-mouth and reviews made sure it didn’t stand much of a chance in the coming days.
In fact, the film’s collection on Saturday and Sunday was lower than its Friday earnings. It made only Rs4.25 crore approximately over the weekend, as per figures shared by BoxOfficeIndia.com. It’s grand total so far is Rs13.11 crore approximately.
The reported cost of production of the Sushant Singh Rajput and Kriti Sanon-starrer is around Rs55 crore. With such low numbers on the opening weekend, the film is likely to turn into a loss making venture.
This week also saw the release of Ajay Pannalal’s Behen Hogi Teri. The Rajkummar Rao-starrer has garnered forgettable numbers on the first weekend. After making a mere Rs25 lakh on the opening day, the film managed only Rs45 lakh and Rs60 lakh on Saturday and Sunday. This takes Behen Hogi Teri's grand total to Rs1.30 crore. The numbers are too low even for its low cost of Rs15 crore. Needless to say, the film will face a washout in the week starting today.
