Kabir Khan’s Tubelight saw the re-union of Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan after 10 years. The last time they shared screen space was in Farah Khan’s Om Shaanti Om (2007). In the making of SRK’s cameo in Tubelight, which just came out, Kabir excitedly speaks about the scene.

Explaining why they needed SRK for the role, he said, “There are not too many people who can come into a film of yours and still demand attention. So, I think it really needs to be Shah Rukh. Salman agreed with me that Shah Rukh would be a great choice. We approached Shah Rukh and I must say he has been very sweet about it. He is very close to Salman.”

Kabir added about the atmosphere on the set during the shoot of that scene. “The entire crew had a blast while shooting that scene, which was shot over one night.”

Kabir had recently revealed that he knows SRK since their college days. In fact, during his film school days, he used to refer to the notes written by King Khan, who was one year senior to him. “Once I acknowledged also at one of the award functions where Shah Rukh had given me the award for Best Film for Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015). I told that I became a filmmaker because I was studying Shah Rukh’s notes,” added Kabir.

SRK played a magician in the film called Goga, who gives confidence to Salman’s character to have faith in himself.
