Shoojit Sircar recently demanded a ban on reality shows featuring children as he feels it negatively affects them emotionality and is a threat to their purity. During an event for his upcoming film Munna Michael, actor Tiger Shroff stated that he doesn’t agree with Sircar’s views.
On asked whether it affects the kids in any way, he said, “Not really because I think it’s great. It gives the child the right direction. It channelizes all the restless positive energy that they have. It gives them direction at a very early age, which is fantastic.”
When pointed out about Sircar’s statement that reality shows featuring children should be banned, Shroff said, “I don’t know. I don’t want to take panga with him (laughs). My view is a bit different. I believe it’s very nice to get education. But extra-curricular activities are also important. For a child to have a balanced life, it’s very important to have that exposure of extra activities. Education is not everything.”
Yesterday, Sircar sparked off a debate on the issue when he said on his Twitter page, “Humble request to authorities to urgently ban all reality shows involving children.it's actually destroying them emotionally & their purity.”
