Comedian Vir Das teams up with Nikkhil Advani for 10-part web series

Vir Das' quick wit and insight into life has led him down a new road in the film industry. The actor-comedian is set to write and produce a new series with filmmaker Nikkhil Advani.

Das, whose recent Netflix special 'Abroad Understanding' was praised critically at home and abroad, pens his own scripts for his international tour.

Speaking about it, Vir said, "I had developed a concept and worked around the script. And it was something I wanted to work with someone who would understand the content of it and thus the idea to work with Nikkhil came about. When I told him about it, he was indeed excited and was an instant collaboration. It's a dark comedy. Having a certain element of thrill we can't reveal the concept per se. We intend to have it as a 10 part series".

The comedian will team up with Kal Ho Naa Ho (2003) director Advani for a dark comedy set in Mumbai. The series will be a comedy set in the mystery genre. The concept for the series is still unknown, but Das is expected to play the lead in the show.

The series will be produced by Das' own Weirdass Comedy and Advani's Emmay Entertainment. Currently, Das and Advani's teams are working on the script, which will go on the floors in September.
