Rajini's 2.0 to hit screens on 25 January 2018

The film, which has been made in 3D from start to finish, will be released in anywhere between 9,000 to 10,000 screens in India alone.

Lyca Productions, the firm that is producing Superstar Rajinikanth's upcoming film by director Shankar, 2.0, says they are looking to release the film on 25 January next year.

Talking to reporters, Lyca creative head Raju Mahalingam said, "The film has been made on a budget of Rs400 crore. The film will release in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi in India and will release in Chinese, Japanese, Spanish and Korean too around the world."

The film, which has been made in 3D from start to finish, will be released in anywhere between 9,000 to 10,000 screens in India alone.

Lyca had arranged for a special meeting of its distributors and theatre owners in a bid to urge theatre owners to upgrade their screens and theatres to facilitate the screening of 3D films.

"We have organised this special session for theatre owners as audiences will be able to enjoy the 3D effect of the film only if theatres have the appropriate 3D facility. In India, there are only 1,500 3D theatres while half of all theatres in China are 3D ready. Therefore, we want to help theatre owners upgrade their facilities."
