The latest song 'Beech Beech Mein' from director Imtiaz Ali's Jab Harry Met Sejal shows Shah Rukh Khan aka Harry and Anushka Sharma aka Sejal take a break from their hunt for Sejal's engagement ring, and indulge in some karaoke and dancing. The duo are seen in a pub, enjoying some groovy music. This is interspersed with scenes from the film, where the two lead actors are seen getting closer.
The dance moves in this song video are not memorable and the lyrics by Irshad Kamil are quite average, but Pritam does manage to give us a fun electro-pop club number. It's also a relief that Ali chose to have a fresh party song composed instead of taking the short cut by using a remixed version of an old song (something many films have done so far this year).
We also get to hear a slightly different side to Arijit Singh, where he gets into a falsetto post the chorus, which is also the point when the song gets really groovy. Shalmali Kholgade and Shefali Alvares are two brilliant singers on the song credits, but unfortunately they don't have much to do here. More of their vocals would have added a good dimension to the track.
Jab Harry Met Sejal will be released on 4 August.
