There is no pretence in Varun Dhawan. He is spontaneous and speaks from the heart. That is why he is fun to talk to.

The Judwaa 2 actor was the first guest for season 2 of #NoFilterNeha season, an audio chat show available on the mobile app Saavn and did not hold back while fielding some quirky questions.

Dhawan had dated his Student Of The Year (2012) co-star Alia Bhatt and despite the artistes claiming to continue to be friends, it is never easy to talk about one's ex.

Dhawan is sometimes compared with Govinda and Dhupia asked why he cried like Govinda in most his films. "I don’t know," he responded. "I was just told that you have to cry openly. There  are some who look good while crying." Dhupia then reminded him that Bhatt looks good crying. “She has not cried her 100 per cent," Dhawan replied. "And you haven’t seen her cry 100 per cent.” He proceeded to demonstrate how Alia Batt would bawl.

Dhupia clearly wanted Dhawan to speak more about his ex-flame. In one of her games, she put Dhawan on the spot by asking him for advice he would like to give some people. First up was Bhatt, and Dhawan sounded uneasy when he joked, “I have no advice to her, I don’t wish to talk about her, that’s what she deserves." He paused and added, "I think she is pretty much figured out… ah, I don’t need to give her any advice, she needs to give me some; no, I don’t want her advice, I don’t want [her] to steal my thunder.” This led Dhupia to say the actor had given her seven answers.

There was no such fumbling when Dhawan was asked for piece for Bhatt’s current boyfriend Sidharth Malhotra. “Hmm… I’d like to see him do more intense roles, like he did in Ek Villain (2014). He needs to sign more films where he is intense. He is doing one in Ittefaq.”

The advice for Arjun Kapoor was to lower the bass in his voice. “Arjun, lower your bass. Stop intimidating people. He talks as if he has been around the industry for 100 years. He behaves and talks like that Lala [Kanhaiyalal] from Mother India (1957).”

Kapoor advised his Dishoom (2016) co-star Jacqueline Fernandes to curb her smile. “Jacqueline, stop smiling too much," he said. "That [smile] is the best part about her, but you see people can take that for granted. She giggles so much. She needs to be a bit assertive."

Dhawan is a great fan of World Wrestling Entertainment and his favourite wrestler was Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson. So Dhupia started throwing names at Dhawan and asking which wrestlers they reminded him of.

The Badrinath Ki Dulhania (2017) actor did not hesitate to say that Ranbir Kapoor could be Heartbreak Kid, the ring name of Shawn Michaels.
