Box office: Salman's Tubelight bags poor Rs7.50 crore nett in its second weekend

Salman Khan's Tubelight is not crawling at the box office, barely managing Rs110 corre nett in 10 days so far. The film could only get Rs7.5 crore in its second weekend, as reported by BoxOfficeIndia.com.

Tubelight had bagged Rs102 crore nett in its opening week. The film managed just Rs2 crore on its second Friday (30 June) and bagged Rs2.5 crore and Rs3.5 crore on the following days.

The collections were bound to dwindle after the low performance in the preceding days forced a deduction in screens for the film. Requesting anonymity, a trade analyst had told Cinestaan.com that the screens showing Tubelight were cut down by 30-40%.

Made at a budget of Rs100 crore excluding Salman's fees, Tubelight had released across 4,400 screens in India. Buzz has it that Salman Khan Films and director Kabir Khan had sold the film to the distributors for Rs135 crore.

Meanwhile, the new Hindi release Ek Haseena Thi Ek Deewana Tha made a poor Rs40 lakh nett on its opening day (30 June).   

On the other hand, Hollywood release Transformers: The Last Knight made fairly good business of Rs14 crore nett in its opening week. The Transformers film fetched Rs1.75 crore through its paid reviews on Thursday (29 June). It bagged Rs3.50 crore, Rs4.25 crore and Rs4.50 crore, on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, respectively, taking its opening weekend total to Rs14 crore nett.
