Akshay Kumar will be a part of popular stand-up comedy show The Great Indian Laughter Challenge. The Gold actor tweeted a teaser of the upcoming show on Saturday (1 July).

Save that he’s looking for new talent in comedy, Akshay didn’t reveal much about his role in the show. He is likely to adjudicate the show.

“Akshay Kumar is going to be the maha judge. The show is being produced by Ashvini Yardi’s Vin Yard Productions. Bharti Singh and Krushna Abhishek are likely to be the hosts. The shooting will commence from September,” informed a source.

Akshay is no stranger to television having hosted many seasons of the popular reality show Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi and the first season of MasterChef. Yardi was the programming head of Colors TV when Akshay had hosted Khatron Ke Khiladi.

The Great Indian Laughter Challenge is returning to the screen after a gap of eight years. Navjot Singh Sidhu and Shekhar Suman were the resident judges before Suman was replaced by Shatrguhan Sinha for the fourth season.

The show has helped produced talents like Kapil Sharma, Raju Shrivastava, and Sunil Pal.

It was widely buzzed that Salman Khan could bid adieu to Bigg Boss and make way for Akshay. Turns out Akshay has the last laugh here.
