Dibakar Banerjee's next film will see Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra reuniting together after their hit debut, Ishaqzaade (2012). The film, produced by Yash Raj Films, is titled Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar.

Banerjee, whose last film was Detective Byomkesh Bakshy! (2015), is known for his different take on the class differences in Indian society, and Sandeep and Pinky Faraar promises more of the same. The film will tell the story of two unlikely individuals from different Indias coming together. The only thing uniting these two people is their mistrust, suspicion and hate for each other.

Speaking about the film, Banerjee said, "This feels like my first film, again. I've had to unlearn everything I know to tell this story about a man and a woman who can't stand each other but can't survive without each other."

While Kapoor and Chopra were last seen in the romantic drama based on Romeo and Juliet, Ishaqzaade, Sandeep And Pinky Faraar is said to be a dramatic thriller.

Kapoor said, "It feels great to be back home at YRF working with Adi Sir and Parineeti, my most amazing and first ever co-actor. Dibakar Banerjee is a name synonymous with being the torchbearer of evolving new age cinema that engages and entertains. I can’t wait to work under his tutelage and vision. Main Dibakar aur Parineeti ke saath faraar hone ke liye fully tayyar and excited hoon."

Chopra expressed a similar emotion speaking about the director. She said, "After Ishaqzaade, Arjun and I used to dream about working with Dibakar one day! His films are so different and always make an impact. I am soo ready to bite my teeth into this character and give the audience something intense!"

The last time Yash Raj Films collaborated with Banerjee on Kanu Behl's Titli (2015). It won a nomination for Camera D'Or at the Cannes International Film Festival.

Currently, Kapoor is awaiting the release of Mubarakan on 28 July, while Chopra is working on the Rohit Shetty film, Golmaal Again.
