Irrfan Khan's The Song Of Scorpions to be premiered at Locarno

The actor plays a camel trader in the film, with Iranian actress Golshifteh Farahani playing his wife.

Irrfan Khan's upcoming international project, The Song Of Scorpions, will have its world premiere at the prestigious Locarno International Film Festival on 9 September. Directed by Anup Singh, the film also stars Waheeda Rehman, Golshifteh Farahani and Titli (2015) actor Shashank Arora.

Anup Singh and Irrfan Khan had previously collaborated for the critically acclaimed, Qissa: The Tale Of A Lonely Ghost (2013).

The actor sports a rusty and rugged look for The Song Of Scorpions. The film delves into the twisted relationship between a camel trader and his healer wife. Shot extensively across Rajasthan, the dialogues in the film use three languages — Hindi, French and English.

The film is set to be showcased under the Locarno Premio section at the Piazza Grande in Locarno, Switzerland. The festival, established in 1946, is one of the more prestigious events in world cinema. This year, it begins on 30 August and continues till 12 September.

The Song Of Scorpions is one of several international projects that Irrfan Khan is a part of. He was recently in London shooting for Puzzle, alongside actresses Kelly Macdonald and Saba Qamar.
