Hyderabad drug racket: SIT begins questioning Ravi Teja

After Charmme Kaur and Mumait Khan were questioned over the past two days, Ravi Teja is being questioned today.

Telugu star Ravi Teja appeared before the special investigation team (SIT) probing the Hyderabad drug racket today.

The actor reached Abkari Bhavan, the office of the prohibition and excise department of the Telangana government, at about 10 am.

A four-member team of SIT officers began questioning the actor with regard to the racket busted in July this year. Like other actors grilled over the past two weeks, Ravi Teja is being questioned about his alleged links with the persons arrested in the case. Popularly known as 'mass maharaja' in film circles, Ravi Teja will also be asked if he is addicted to recreational drugs.

The star was summoned for questioning after his contact number was found in the call data of Calvin Mascarenhas and Zeeshan Ali, the two key suspects arrested in the case.

Ravi Teja's mother last week denied the allegations of drug use by the actor.

He is the ninth Telugu film celebrity to be questioned in the case. The SIT questioned actresses Charmme Kaur and Mumait Khan in the past two days.
