Lyricist Priya Sariya creates a poor mash-up of 'Aap Jaisa Koi' (Qurbani) and 'Hum Tum Ek Kamre Mein Band Ho' (Bobby) songs. Jacqueline's dance moves and the exotic locations too don’t really pull you to this track.
'Baat Ban Jaye' song: This Bobby and Qurbani tribute has gone horribly wrong

The makers of A Gentleman: Sundar, Susheel and Risky today (27 July) unveiled the 'Baat Ban Jaye' song from the film. Thankfully, it is not a remake of the late Pakistani artist Nazia Hassan’s 'Aap Jaisa Koi' track from Feroz Khan's Qurbani (1980). For if it was, Feroz Khan and Hassan would be turning in their graves.
Shot in exotic locales, the song is penned by singer Priya Saraiya, wife of the music director Jigar. She would perhaps like to call it a tribute to both, the Qurbani song and the Shailendra Singh and Lata Mangeshkar duet 'Hum Tum Ek Kamre Mein Band Ho' from Bobby (1973). Unfortunately, Sariya badly mashes up the words from the two classic songs resulting in very poor poetry. Not even for a moment do the lyrics hold your attention.
The same can be said of the singing too with Saraiya and Siddharth Basrur just lacking the voice quality and going awry with their tunes.
Sachin-Jigar save the track from being a total disaster by scoring some peppy beats. They might work in parties and discotheques, but overall 'Baat Ban Jaye' is a disappointing track.
While Jacqueline Fernandez again does a good job of dancing, Sidharth Malhotra doesn’t have much choreography to follow. This however, might just be a blessing in disguise. Shooting in exotic locales has done good for songs before, but these visuals don't contribute to the track.
