The Kerala police is said to have questioned singer and television anchor Rimi Tomy, who is said to be a close friend of actor Dileep. Sources say the singer was asked if she had any real-estate dealings with the actor, which she denied.

Dileep has been arrested in connection with the abduction of and sexual assault on a popular actress from the South.

The singer, in an interview to a television channel, said a police officer called her up and enquired about some stage shows she had done abroad. She also claimed that the police confirmed they were aware she had no connection with the assault case.

It was earlier speculated that Dileep might approach the Supreme Court after his plea for bail was turned down by the Kerala high court earlier this week. However, sources close to the actor now indicate that he may approach the high court again.

It may be recalled that his plea for bail had first been turned down by a court in Angamaly.

The courts have chosen not to entertain the plea for bail as they believe that Dileep, if let out, could influence the course of the investigation.
