Shubh Mangal Savdhan teaser: A cool video with 'uncool' characters

The makers of Shubh Mangal Saavdhan released an animated teaser introducing the lead characters, Mudit (Ayushmann Khurrana) and Sugandha (Pednekar).

According to the teaser, Mudit is far from being cool like a James Bond, Hrithik Roshan, or James Dean, while Sugandha isn’t hot as Katrina Kaif, Marilyn Monroe or Madonna. It seems Pednekar and Khurrana are going to be an uncool pair in their second film together.

In her tweet, Pednekar described the lead as uncool. 

The film is the remake of Tamil film Kalyana Samayal Saadham. RS Prassana has helmed both the Tamil film and its Hindi remake. The makers deserve credit for a very quirky, no run-of-the-mill teaser. 

Pednekar and Khurrana were widely appreciated for their chemistry in Dum Laga Ke Haisha (2015). 

In less than a month, fans will get to see not one but two films with Pednekar. First will be the Akshay Kumar-starrer Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, to be released on 11 August, followed by Shubh Mangal Saavdhan that hits the theatres on 1 September. The latter will compete with Ajay Devgn’s Baadshaho.
