Bhatt will play a 20-year-old Kashmiri girl married to a Pakistani army officer.

A few days ago, we had reported that Alia Bhatt will be learning to speak Urdu with a Kashmiri accent and also train in self defence for her upcoming film Raazi. Shooting of the film has begun today (25 July). Directed by Meghna Gulzar, the film is about a 20-year-old Kashmiri girl who is marries a Pakistani officer.
Karan Johar, who's Dharma Productions is co-producing the film with Junglee Pictures, tweeted about the film going on floor.

Raazi is based on Harinder S Sikka’s book Calling. The film will see Vicky Kaushal opposite Bhatt. It is a maiden collaboration for Bhatt not just with Kaushal but also with Meghna Gulzar. Gulzar is known for films Talvar (2015), Dus Kahaniyaan (2007) and Just Married (2007).
