Tiger Shroff starrer Munna Michael has had a low first weekend in terms of box office. The Sabbir Khan directed film collected only Rs20.62 crore approximately in the first three days, as per figures shared by BoxOfficeIndia.com.
Surprisingly, the film’s Saturday collections (Rs 6 crore) were lower than Friday’s (Rs6.62 crore). It showed some growth on Sunday by earning Rs8 crore. But it certainly wasn’t significant enough.
Munna Michael is reportedly made at a cost of Rs45 crore. The low numbers in the weekend have ensured that the film doesn’t stand much of a chance to surpass its cost as the numbers are expected to be even lower in the weekdays starting today.
Alankrita Shrivastava’s Lipstick Under My Burkha, which also released on Friday, has managed decent weekend numbers. The film opened with Rs1.10 crore on Friday. The collections gradually increased on Saturday and Sunday by earning Rs1.85 crore and Rs2.25 crore respectively.
The total figure of Rs5.20 crore is encouraging considering its low cost of production of approximately Rs10 crore (adjusted).
Hollywood film Dunkirk also had a good first weekend in India. The Christopher Nolan’s directorial earned Rs11.25 crore despite not being dubbed in any of the regional languages.
