Jab Harry Met Sejal trailer: Shah Rukh, Anushka ring in the charm with another Imtiaz Ali travel diary

For all its anticipation and buzz, the Jab Harry Met Sejal trailer was finally released today. Released by Anushka Sharma and Shah Rukh Khan at a special event, the trailer possesses the charm, fun, scenic beauty, and another fascinating journey of love as expected from an Imtiaz Ali film.

The trailer begins with the sight of a rakish Harry (Khan), who is tired of Gujarati tourists in Europe, meeting the obstinate Sejal (Sharma) who loses her engagement ring during a tour. It is this incident that led to the film's working title being 'The Ring'.

Sejal even tells Harry that she is not one of those women who will forget her fiance and fall for the tour guide. But an Imtiaz Ali film is not meant for simple love stories. As the two go on their own journey to recover the lost ring, they find something they had not set out to discover. There is also the additional drama of what looks like Sejal being kidnapped which adds to the drama.

Khan embodies the personality of the flirty, casual guide who possesses the charm to keep his clients impressed. But it is Sharma's total Gujju Sejal who steals the scene. The actress, though sporting an overt accent, brings a lot of energy to the trailer with her turn as the outgoing, naive girl on a tour of Europe. The two share some scintillating chemistry, and the camaraderie only adds to the humour. The dialogues, written by Ali, are witty and hilarious. Knowing Ali's work, the film may have a lot more complexity than it shows.

The film is produced by Khan's Red Chillies Entertainment. After being delayed for its undecided title, the film's trailer was preceded by 5-mini 'trails' that showed glimpses of the characters. The film is expected to be released on 4 August.
