Priyanka Chopra was one of the big name absentees at the recent International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards in New York. The actress was busy ringing in her 36th birthday with her family at a private party on an island. From the pictures put up on her Instagram, it is easy to understand why Chopra might not regret giving the award functions a miss.
The actress, who has had a busy year with the release of Baywatch (2017) and the shuttling between Mumbai and New York, took a deserved break with her family, mother Madhu and brother Siddharth in tow.
The actress wrote this on her Instagram page before leaving for her vacation:
Despite it being her first vacation in a long time, the actress's display of her family's passport collection tells a different story. The well stacked diaries show a family that has been on the move for a while.
The actress has become one of the most recognised Indian faces across the globe after her appearances at prominent events like the Academy Awards, the Golden Globes, as well as major fashion events like the MET Gala, and the recent Paris Couture week, where she hung out with actresses Kate Winslet, Sophia Loren, Isabelle Huppert and Naomi Watts.
Naturally, Chopra did not step out of her fashionable self while celebrating her birthday.
The family certainly went all out to bring in Chopra's 36th year. Mother Madhu surprised the actress with a bright-candle lit wish on the sandy beach. 'Island girl... feeling very blessed and loved. The actress even put up a picture of herself in perfect island floral headgear.
Despite the celebratory mood, the actress did not forget her fans. Taking to Instagram, she sent out a video thanking her fans for wishing her on her birthday. 'I am really really overwhelmed with the love that everyone wished me,' said the Quantico star.
With her rising clout as a producer, and the increasing fame across the globe, the actress certainly has more to look forward in the coming year. Hopefully, this birthday vacation will rejuvenate her.
