Dark characters bring the best out of Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Case in point, Raman Raghav 2.0 (2016), Gangs of Wasseypur 2 (2012), Kick (2014), among others.
The actor is now set to feature in Pawan Kripalani's Phobia 2, a sequel to the critically acclaimed psychological thriller Phobia (2016), wherein Radhika Apte was seen in the role of a girl suffering from agarophobia (fear of open spaces). In Phobia 2, Siddiqui will portray a character who suffers from aviophobia (fear of flying).
"After Nawaz had wrapped up Munna Michael, we met at his residence and jammed on this script. He immediately gave his nod. Phobia will always have a high-calibre actor as performance is paramount. Nawaz suits this character perfectly," producer Viki Rajani told Times of India.
Beginning with Siddiqui boarding a flight, the film is said to be entirely set on the plane. Phobia 2 is expected to go on floors either by October 2017 or February 2018. Siddiqui will wrap up the shooting of Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan’s Chanda Mama Door Ke before starting work on Kriplani's film.
