The Hindu Makkal Katchi has lodged a complaint with the Tamil Nadu police demanding a ban on the television show, Bigg Boss, and the arrest of all the participants, including host Kamal Haasan.

In a complaint handed over to the Chennai police commissioner this morning, the group said, 'Indians give utmost importance to respect and dignity. Television programmes and films continue to be made with the intention of destroying Indian culture and tradition. The height of this is the show Bigg Boss, which is being telecast on Vijay TV.'

In its complaint, the organization said seven men and seven women, who are in no way connected, live together in one house and speak and act in an obscene manner. It said such programmes would increase the evils that destroy society.

The group took particular exception to scenes making fun of 'Tamizh Thai Vazhthu', a song in praise of Tamil, and said it hurt the sentiments of seven crore Tamils. It demanded that the host, Kamal Haasan, and all the participants be arrested and the show be banned.
