In yet another blow to actor Dileep, who has been arrested in connection with the case pertaining to the kidnapping and harrassment of a popular south Indian actress, the court today turned down his plea for bail and also granted the police permission to take the actor into their custody for a period of two days.

It may be recalled that Dileep, when produced before the magistrate yesterday, had been sent to 14 days judicial custody. The actor, who has been claiming that he is innocent, had then said that he would apply for bail.

However, the Kerala police had made it clear yesterday itself that they would be seeking permission to take the actor into police custody.

Dileep's bail plea was turned down by the Angamaly court as it felt that the investigation in the case was in the preliminary stages.
