Irrfan Khan, who has been shooting for his Hollywood film The Puzzle in New York, recently posted his rusty and rugged look in his next project The Song Of Scorpions, directed by Anup Singh.
The actor-director duo last collaborated on the acclaimed Punjabi film, Qissa: The Tale of a Lonely Ghost, which explored the story of a daughter who faces gender identity crisis after her father, Khan, raises her like a son.
The Song Of Scorpions delves into the twisted relationship between a camel trader (Khan) and his wife (played by Iranian actress-musician Golshifteh Farahani who last starred in the Hollywood film Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales). Golshifteh plays the role of a woman, who can cure any incurable pain (including snake bite and labour pain) through music. The film has Golshifteh taking up a journey to find the right music that will heal her own life, poisoned by her own husband.
Shot extensively across Rajasthan, the film also stars Waheeda Rahman and Shashank Arora. The Song Of Scorpions is slated to be released this year.
