Nawazuddin is besharam babu in new Babumoshai Bandookbaaz poster

The actor says he took inspiration from Al Pacino and Pierce Brosnon to get into his role of a desi hitman for his upcoming film.

Mayur Lookhar

With each avatar, Nawazuddin Siddiqui leaves you spell bound, and that's not just because of his look in the film, but more importantly thanks to his talent. Even as critics are going gaga over his portrayal as the goofy detective in Mom, the star has two more very interesting releases coming up in the form of Munna Michael and Babumoshayi Bandookbaaz. The latter, in which Siddiqui is seen playing a rural hitman, has generated some good buzz. The teaser, and the initial poster have been received very warmly. A day before the trailer launch, the makers have unveiled a new poster of Babumoshai Bandookbaaz. The character is also given the tag of Besharam Babu.

Babumoshai is in brown casuals and leather shoes. Don’t lose sight of the pistol tucked in the pocket of his pants. The intriguing part of the poster though is the fact that Babumoshai is eating a moti choor ka laddoo (Indian sweet) with a dead man's feet next to him! Perhaps, the sweets belonged to the dying man, considering that Siddiqui 's character is supposed to be besharam.

The most fascinating thing about Siddiqui is that for guy with frail physique like his, he has often carried off characters with the swag of a burly guy. And that's the case with this film as well.

Meanwhile, speaking to Hindustan Times, the actor revealed that he was inspired by Hollywood stars like Al Pacino and former James Bond star Pierce Brosnan to prepare for Babumoshayi Bandookzbaaz.

“My character is stylish and inspired by James Bond, as he shoots and kills like him. He is besharam about everything in life, and has a sense of humour. I enjoy playing roles that have tashan as when I was in theatre, I was impressed by stylish actors like Al Pacino or Pierce Brosnan, who played James Bond. Somewhere, you imbibe these qualities and use them as an actor. This film has a lot of masala and isn’t an art or an offbeat film.” Siddiqui said.

The trailer of Babumoshai Bandookbaaz will be out tomorrow.
