After charming the red carpet, Priyanka Chopra hangs out with Meryl Streep

The Golden Globes 2017 might have ended, but Priyanka Chopra will cherish it forever. Apart from making quite a stylish appearance at the prestigious ceremony, and presenting the award for Best Actor in a Television Series or Movie (Drama) along with Jeffrey Dean Morgan, the actress managed to get a picture with her idol, Meryl Streep. Streep, unquestionably, was the star of the evening with her heartfelt speech, and no wonder Chopra sounded thrilled in her Twitter post with her idol. 

The actress certainly didn't miss a chance to meet her idol, meeting her backstage and snapping a picture to boot. "Quoting my favourite #MerylStreep, as I call an end to this night...when u have a broken heart..make art. You are astounding.#fangirl" she wrote. 

In an interview to Dailymail.co.uk recently, the actress had mentioned Streep as an icon, and said, "I love strong-minded women such as Meryl Streep, Helen Mirren and Charlize Theron."

Back in 2015, when Priyanka was asked during a Q&A on Twitter about the one American actor or actress she wants to work with, she took Streep's name. 

So we aren't surprised that Priyanka was over the moon about meeting her idol. 

Also, despite the jazzy wins of La La Land and Moonlight, it was Streep's speech that stole the show at the Golden Globes 2017. At her acceptance speech for the Cecil B DeMille Lifetime Achievement Award, Streep gave an eloquent, searing and heartfelt speech in favour of liberal rights and equality that made an impact on the glamorous audience. Speaking at the ceremony, Streep said, "Disrespect invites disrespect, violence incites violence. And when the powerful use their position to bully others we all lose." It was a speech that got the room to its feet, and was received with applause all round.

One of the more vocal applauses came from our very own Chopra. The actress was seen cheering Streep loudly at the end of the speech. 

To be fair, after that speech, it is hard for anyone not to be a fan of the lady.
