Born Mary Evans, Nadia's first leading role as Princess Madhuri aka the 'Hunterwali' established her as a star and the leading stunt actress in Indian cinema. She was the only woman in those days whose name and picture on posters could bring the crowds in.
2. Miss Frontier Mail (1936)
In the third of the Diamond Thriller series by Wadia Movietone, Fearless Nadia fought off a band of robbers atop a speeding train.
3. Hurricane Hansa (1937)
Nadia became the avenging Hansa after facing many hardships growing up as an 'untouchable', a daring social comment in those times, in RN Vaidya's Hurricane Hansa (1937).
4. Punjab Mail (1939)
Continuing the reign of Lady Justice, Nadia donned a mask to avenge those who had done her wrong in Homi Wadia's Punjab Mail (1936).
5. Diamond Queen (1940)
Nadia shed her mask and whip this time, though she was ably backed by her animal sidekicks, her trusty horse Punjab-ka-beta and her dog Gunboat.
6. Bambaiwali (1941)
Gunboat, the faithful German shepherd, was back beside his mistress and featured prominently on the poster of Homi Wadia's Bambaiwali (1941).
7. Jungle Princess (1942)
Nadia lived up to her 'fearless' title as Leela, a young woman shipwrecked on an unknown forest island and growing up with lions for family.
8. Lady Robinhood (1946)
The mask and the whip returned as Nadia made a comeback as the disguised avenging super-heroine in Lady Robinhood (1946), which marked Chitragupta's first project as an independent music composer.
9. Shamsheer Baaz (1953)
Nadia showed her fighting prowess as Seema, the neglected elder daughter of the wise Sardar who has returned to claim her rightful heritage.
10. Carnival Queen (1955)
Nadia turned into a sharpshooter at the Great Jewel Carnival in this Adi Marzban-scripted film directed by Noshir Engineer.
