From the trailers of Sanjay Gupta’s Kaabil, it is evident that the film is a tale of revenge. But it is also clear that the revenge stems from romance. This romantic angle is explored in the track ‘Mon Amour.’ But it is a fast number with energetic dance steps.

The song starts off as a slow romantic number, then suddenly raises the tempo and becomes a dance number. Composer Rajesh Roshan has smartly handled the transformation. The mixture of bugle and drums is enough to force you to tap your feet.

Vishal Dadlani displays his singing talent in ample measure as he, too, manages the transformation well. Manoj Muntashir’s words are meaningful and simple. ‘Mon Amour’ is a French term that translates to ‘my love’ in English.

Hrithik Roshan has proved himself to be a quality dancer over the years. He proves that here too. He also overcomes the challenge of making it look as if a blind man is dancing. However, his wide-eyed expression appears strange. It brings back memories of his character Rohit from Koi... Mil Gaya (2003). Yami Gautam matches up to him and does a decent job.

Produced by Rakesh Roshan, Kaabil will be released on 25 January.
