Tabu has been confirmed as the latest arrival to the cast of Rohit Shetty's next, Golmaal 4. The actress will join Parineeti Chopra as the latest addition to Rohit Shetty's superhit franchise. Known for her penchant for dark characters and serious roles, this is a return to commercial films for Tabu. It is reported that she might be replacing Kareena Kapoor's character in the hit franchise. This also marks Tabu's return to comedy after 17 years. Her last comedy was Priyadarshan's Hera Pheri in 2000.

Speaking about joining the cast, the actress had said in an interview to a daily, "I wasn't shocked or surprised when I was offered the film. I have always loved the 'Golmaal' series and was quite excited about being a part of it. Ajay (Devgn) is a friend and I also know the remaining cast, and working with friends is always wonderful."

The actress will also be seen alongside Ajay Devgn, having worked with him last in Drishyam (2015). Her addition to the cast was confirmed by trade analyst Taran Adarsh who put up a tweet about it.

Although it is her serious roles that have brought her critical acclaim, Tabu said, "Nobody can laugh all the time. People close to me know my funny side. Also, comedy is one of my favourite genres."

Directed by Rohit Shetty, Golmaal 4 also has Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade and Kunal Khemmu in the cast.
