The ire of a few publicity-hungry members of the Rajput community was directed at Sushant Singh Rajput. A troll hit out against the M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story actor for "diluting Rajputana culture". The incident happened in the backdrop of the assault on Padmavati director Sanjay Leela Bhansali on the sets of the film.

In his tweet, the man was scathing in his attack on Sushant. Sushant then chose to give a stern reply.

The angry reaction from the troll was a result of Rajputs condemning the cowardly attack on Bhansali and his crew by a Rajput outfit, Karni Sena on Friday (27 January).

Karni Sena vandalised the Padmavati sets last evening. The main objection of the protestors was over the alleged fact that the film shows the legendary queen Padmini in bad light. Bhansali's film is a historical drama based on the story of Queen Padmini of Chittor who refused to submit to the advances of Allaudin Khilji during his invasion of Chittor. The protestors have alleged that there are love scenes between Rani Padmini, played by Deepika Padukone, and Allauddin Khilji, played by Ranveer Singh, in the film. It is not known whether Padukone or Singh were present at the sets during the scuffle.

Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap pulled out an old article by Bhansali wherein the director expressed his thoughts about the legend of Padmavati.

Bhansali has been previously accused of distorting facts in his 2015 epic film Bajirao Mastani.
