Rajinikanth-Akshay Kumar's 2.0 teaser to release on Tamil New Year in April

The shooting for the big-budget sequel for Rajinikanth's Robot (2012) is on its final schedule and teaser for it is expected to arrive on 14 April.

The date for the much-awaited teaser trailer of the Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar starrer 2.0 has been revealed. The teaser for the sci-fi film is expected to arrive on 14 April, the Tamil New Year. Director Shankar's film is on the last leg of its schedule and is expected to be set for release later this year. 

Director Shankar and his crew will be shooting in Chennai till 30 January. Reports suggest that the makers of the film plan to complete shooting by March, after which the post-production on the film will begin. Considering the massive scale of the special effects in the film, the post-production work is expected to take almost 6 months.

2.0 is the sequel to the hit Robot (2012) and has a production cost that exceeds Rs300 crore. The film will be simultaneously released in the three languages — Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. 

Ever since its announcement, the film has been making waves for its story. The presence of two massive stars in Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar makes the film one of the most-awaited blockbusters of the year. 

2.0, backed by Lyca Productions, is expected to arrive in theatres by Diwali.
