The battle over awards just doesn't seem to end. After Harshvardhan Kapoor's miffed response to Diljit Dosanjh's win, it is now choreographer Vaibhavi Merchant's turn to be angry.
The choreographer tweeted her reaction to Filmfare's nomination of Salman Khan in the category of Best Choreographer for the song 'Jag ghoomeya' from Sultan. Merchant tweeted 'Why not nominate me as best actor for Sultan if you cud nominate my dearest Salman for best choreographer Jag ghumeya..'

Admittedly, Merchant had credited Khan with one step of the song. The signature step of Khan on the floor was reportedly an invention of the actor himself, but the rest of the song was choreographed by Merchant herself. It is natural that she feels a little aggrieved at being denied a nomination.
However, Merchant did receive a nomination for 'Nashe Si Chadh Gayi' for Befikre (2016). The award went to Kathak maestro Birju Maharaj for his choreography of 'Mohe Rang Do Laal' in Bajirao Mastani (2015).
The growing discontent in the industry though might make the organisers of these ceremonies plan them a little more carefully the next time around.
