Koffee with Karan: 5 things we learnt from Priyanka Chopra's fantastic episode

The latest episode of season 5 of Koffee with Karan, had Johar trade his wits with the hottest property in Hindi cinema, Priyanka Chopra, and the former Miss World won it by a mile.

She has seen off the Jimmy Kimmels, Ellen DeGeneres, and Fallons in LA land, so it came as a refreshing change to see Priyanka Chopra back in her homestead, with the familiar questioning face of Karan Johar on Koffee With Karan. The much-awaited episode aired on Sunday (22 January), for many fans waiting for Chopra to do a desi turn after a very popular stint in Hollywood, seemed to have all the right ingredients for a hit. Chopra did not disappoint, with her witty, brave, and sometimes revealing answers to Johar's questionnaire.

Here are 5 things we learnt from the Quantico star's run in with Johar.

1. Even stars audition
Though she is into the second season of her popular television show, Quantico, overseas, Chopra revealed that it was the first time she ever auditioned for a role. She said, "I read 25 scripts and then said yes. In India, I didn’t do any audition. When I went there for an audition… the sterility of it. There are empty room and a camera staring at you. Now being a Bollywood celeb, I was all decked up. So, the moment I walked in, they said, 'we knew somebody has walked in'. I was nothing like Alex Parish.”

Needless to say, she did very well. The two People's Choice Awards on her cupboard back home are proof enough.

2. The comparison between Hollywood v/s Home
Chopra admitted that there is a stark difference between how fans at home deal with the stars, from fans abroad. She added how her co-stars would be surprised at the craziness involved. She said, "When I am shooting there, thousands of people surround the area around. While I take selfies, meet and greet people, my co-stars just click pictures of the crowd because they have never seen the madness of how people believe in what we do. It is totally funny how Indian’s push Americans around to meet us."

The west just doesn't do crowds like we desis do!

3. On that Tom Hiddleston twirl
This question was coming, and even Chopra might have seen it from a mile away. Johar did bring up Chopra's recent rumoured link up with one of Hollywood's hottest stars, Tom Hiddleston. Chopra laughed it off saying, "I just met him for 10 minutes." Her 'chemistry' with Hiddleston lit up the after-hours gossip at the Emmys. "I met him for 10 minutes, and it becomes world news," she laughed.

4.On Deepika Padukone and Sonam Kapoor's Hollywood adventures
For someone who has been away from home so long, it is a tad disappointing that Chopra doesn't keep up with the gossip from the industry. "My mom hates the fact that I don't gossip much," she said. But the actress admitted that the arrival of Deepika Padukone and Sonam Kapoor into Hollywood is a good thing. She said, "My idea was to make it concrete. I am proud of all the actors including Deepika and Sonam going Hollywood. But I just don’t want that we go back to the stereotype that existed about Bollywood there. People there will always try to pull you back."

5. The Koffee shots

The highlight of the whole episode was the modified rapid fire round, or now the Koffee shots round. Keeping with Chopra's recent trend of downing shots with chat show hosts, Johar modified the rapid fire round to offer Chopra shots of coffee for a 'yes' answer to his questions, and boy, did she have a lot of yeses.
