Akshay Kumar's Jolly LLB 2 is set to hit the theatres on 10 February and the makers have just released an interesting behind-the-scenes video. The contents of the video are surprising, for this was the first time Akshay Kumar had been to the sacred town of Benares.
No one was more surprised than director Subhash Kapoor, who thought Akshay Kumar must have been to the ancient town at least a few times already.
In the film, Akshay Kumar's character Jagdish Mishra aka Jolly has to take a dip in the Ganga. "We were shooting immediately after the monsoon," said Kapoor. "The Ganga was running almost at danger level. There was a dupe available, but Akshay Kumar decided to take the dip himself. We had taken the boat to the middle of the river. We shot a few times with the duplicate but suddenly Akshay said, I’ve come for the first time to Benares and I like the feel of this place. Let me do the shot, I’ll jump into the river.”
The star said, "I was told a dupe was available, but I would be ashamed if I came to Benares and did not take a dip in the Ganga.”
Kapoor refused at first, but Akshay Kumar assured him that he is a good swimmer. Thereafter, he took his shirt off and jumped into the river in his vest and jeans.
”Once he jumped, he started swimming better than the locals. Akshay said he was having fun and would swim for another five minutes,” Kapoor said.
