Kaabil was to initially have shows post 6 pm on 25 January, but will now screen from morning onwards as the Roshans seem to be in no mood to let Shah Rukh Khan's Raees have an edge at the box-office.

Whatever you do, I can do the same, if not better, seems to be the message Kaabil producer Rakesh Roshan is sending out to Raees makers. Both are films are set for a big clash on 25 January.
Hrithik Roshan-Yami Gautam-starrer Kaabil was to initially have shows post 6 pm on 25 January, but will now be screened from morning onward as the Roshans seem to be in no mood to let Shah Rukh Khan's Raees have an edge at the box-office.
First, both the films locked the same date, then Rakesh decided to release his film Kaabil a day before the 26 January holiday. Khan and Excel Enertainment followed suit and decided to release Raees on 25 January too with shows from morning onwards.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted about this development.
Earlier, #Kaabil was to release from 6 pm onwards... Decision changed... #Kaabil shows will now commence from morning itself on 25 Jan.

It must be recalled that in the first of week of December 2016, Roshan had expressed his disappointment over Raees aping Kaabil again by advancing their release by a day.
"It's a full-fledged release on 25 January and not just paid previews. Now that the other film is following my release date, it's up to my distributors to take a call — whether to release from 6 pm or right from the morning shows," Rakesh had told a daily newspaper then.
All said and done, both Kaabil and Raees will begin their battle on an even keel.
