Last month, buzz was that Mirzya actress Saiyami Kher had replaced Kriti Sanon in Nikhil Advani's Lucknow Central. However, it now turns out that Happy Bhag Jayegi (2016) actress Diana Penty has joined Farhan Akhtar in the film.
A source said Penty has begun shooting for the project in Lucknow, capital of Uttar Pradesh state. Contrary to earlier reports, Lucknow Central is not a romantic film. Farhan Akhtar plays a prisoner in Lucknow central jail who starts a band to rediscover his pride.
This will be the first film together for Akhtar and Penty. The latter, after making her debut with Cocktail (2012), had returned to the big screen last year with Aanand L Rai’s Happy Bhag Jayegi.
