Unconventional stories need unconventional pairing. That's what we saw in Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar’s Dum Laga Ke Haisha (2015), a love story of two simpletons married to each other unwillingly. The duo will return in Shubh Mangal Saavdhan that is produced by director Aanand L Rai of Raanjhanaa (2013) and Tanu Weds Manu (2011) fame. Both Khurrana and Pednekar tweeted about the big announcement.
Excited to announce my next. Quirky, zany & mad #ShubhMangalSaavdhan with the lovely @psbhumi. Thanks @aanandlrai @ErosNow @cypplOfficial âÂÂÂÂï¸Â pic.twitter.com/fN3NuHuAl9

Shubh Mangal Saavdhan has been conceived by and will be directed by filmmaker RS Prasanna. The film will be shot in Delhi.
It may be recalled that Rai had earlier signed Khurrana and Pednekar for a romantic film called Manmarziyan. That project was to be directed by Sameer Sharma, but after the initial shoot, Sharma was replaced by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari.
Rai had confirmed this to us in June last year that the project will commence in 2017.
Confirmed! Ayushmann Khurrana, Bhumi Pednekar's Manmarziyan pushed to 2017
However, in August, Rai put Manmarziyan on hold.
We tried contacting Rai and Tiwari to know whether Shubh Mangal Savdhan has any connection to Manmarizyan, but got no response from the duo.
Pednekar shed all the weight she gained for Dum Laga Ke Haisha in which she played an overweight girl. She has also signed Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, which stars Akshay Kumar.
