Karan Johar's soon-to-launched biography An Unsuitable Boy is making waves already after excerpts from the book had Johar opening about his sexuality, and then later about his broken relationship with old friend Kajol. In yet another disclosure, Johar has now opened up about his infamous rumoured rift with Shah Rukh Khan. The filmmaker has also written about his admiration for Shah Rukh's kids Aryan, Suhana and especially AbRam.

Kajol can never come back to my life: Karan Johar in An Unsuitable Boy

"Shah Rukh Khan is a very possessive friend, I think I may have hurt him when I made a film without him. And I think I got hurt because when I did, he didn’t give me that paternal or fraternal feeling that I had from him otherwise. I think we were two hurt friends for no reasons," India Today quoted an excerpt from Johar's book.

Johar further revealed that the simmering silent distance between them went out of the window when they met at the success party of Piku.

Johar wrote, "I hugged him instinctively and said, 'I’ve missed you, and he said, 'You’ve no idea how much I've missed you'. We had this moment."

The filmmaker further writes: "When the origin of the friendship is so strong, it just cannot die."

Ironically, the Shah Rukh-Karan cold war was said to have occurred at a time when rumours of Khan’s affair with Priyanka Chopra started doing the rounds. Around the same time, Johar had famously declared that the time had come to work with Salman Khan, Shah Rukh's former arch rival. Salman had agreed to do Johar's Shuddhi, but the project never took off.

Meanwhile, Johar has described having a parental feeling towards Shah Rukh's kids.

“I go to Gauri’s house now to play with AbRam. Even if Gauri is not there, I go and sit with him. And he comes and spends time with my mum all the time. My mum loves him. He is like a toy that you want to own. He came to the office the other day and the entire staff came out to see him. Everyone was behaving as if Brad Pitt had arrived. He was delighted with all the attention,” Johar wrote.

Buzz has it that Shah Rukh will launch Johar's book shortly. Expect more candid disclosures.
