Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor's OK Jaanu is set to hit the screens this Friday (13 January). A few days before its release, the makers have released a refreshing track. In a time of simplistic lyrics, the words of 'Kaara Fankaara' make you sit up and take notice of its meaning and essence.

The literal translation of kaara fankaara is black snake hissing. Alternatively, fankaar also means artist. However, an artist seems like a misfit to the visuals in the track. Perhaps, the team of lyric writers Navneet Virk, Kaly, Hard Kaur and ADK have used kaara fankaara as a metaphor to describe the dangerous love which strikes Adi (Aditya Roy Kapur) and Tara (Shraddha Kapoor), leaves them gasping for more.

At a time when most writers merely play to the gallery by doling out average lyrics which are easily digestible by the masses, the quartet of Virk, Kaur, Kaly and ADK make you sit and ponder about the 'Kaara Fankaara' track.

AR Rahman has a history of producing numbers where the lyrics are difficult to gauge, but the music is appealing — 'Humma Humma' from Bombay (1995),  'Mangta Hai Kya' from Rangeela (1996). The Mozart of Madras has composed a fusion of soft pop and hip-hop in Kaara Fankaara. The track comes together perfectly to melt your heart. Rahman has retained most of the music from the original Tamil track original 'Kaara Aattakaara'. OK Jaanu is the remake of Mani Ratnam's Tamil flick OK Kanmani (2015).

The makers smartly weave in gaming animation into the video of this song, adding a unique touch to it. The melodic voices of Shashaa Tirupati, Ashima Mahajan and Paroma Dasgupta, coupled with strong rap vocals by Kaly, Kaur and ADK are the hallmarks of 'Kaara Fankaara'. Tirupati and ADK had also sung the original Tamil track 'Kaara Aattakaara'.

The popularity of Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor has soared since their Aashiqui 2 days.
