From Ishaan Khattar to Ahan Shetty: 11 debutants to look forward to in 2017

Over the last decade or so, entry of debutants has become a regular feature in Hindi cinema, unlike the olden days when it was a one-off phenomenon. In fact, the number of newcomers entering the industry just keeps increasing every year and 2017 is going to be no different. Here are 11 debutants to look forward to in 2017.

Keyur Seta

Mahira Khan
The Pakistani beauty is a keenly anticipated debutant for more than one reason. She is making her debut opposite none other than Shah Rukh Khan in a keenly awaited film, Raees. Her good looks have added to her popularity. But mostly, the controversy and debate around Pakistani stars working in India has gained her maximum limelight.

Jhanvi Kapoor
Sridevi and Boney Kapoor’s daughter, Jhanvi has been constantly in the news in 2016 due to her beautiful and glamorous Instagram pictures and her rumoured relationship with Shikhar Pahariya. At an event some time back, Boney was quoted as saying that Jhanvi would be debuting with Karan Johar’s production and will most probably star in the Hindi remake of Sairat.

Sara Ali Khan
Sara, who is the daughter of Saif Ali Khan and ex-wife Amrita Singh, too has become known on the internet for her good looks. She was supposed to make her debut with Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. But she reportedly had a fallout with Johar. However, there are reports that all is well between both and she will probably star in Student Of The Year 2.

Sakshi Khanna
Akshaye Khanna and Rahul Khanna’s half-brother and Vinod Khanna’s son is also set to enter the Hindi film arena. He is all set to be launched by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Sakshi couldn’t have asked for a better debut. The title and other details about the film aren’t known yet.

Karan Deol
Sunny Deol’s son Karan is also not an unknown figure. His physique reminds fans of his father. Sunny will be launching him in a romantic drama titled, Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas. Hunt for a girl to cast opposite him is currently on. During a recent interview, the senior Deol had said that he wants his son to work on his acting skills more than his body.

Ahan Shetty
After Athiya, Sunil Shetty’s younger son Ahan too will enter mainstream Hindi cinema. He has been signed for a big project by Sajid Nadiadwala, who also gave Tiger Shroff and Kriti Sanon their first break. Nothing else is known about Ahan’s debut film currently.

Ishaan Khattar
Shahid Kapoor’s brother and Rajesh Khattar and Neelima Azeem’s son has been signed by Karan Johar for an upcoming project, which is being kept under wraps. There are reports that he would be starring opposite Jhanvi Kapoor in the Hindi remake of Sairat, but there hasn’t been any confirmation on the same.

Aadar Jain
He is yet another actor from the Kapoor clan to enter Hindi cinema. Aadar Jain is Raj Kapoor’s grandson and Ranbir Kapoor’s cousin. It seems he has been lucky enough to get a dream debut. What else to say when you land a role in an Aditya Chopra film, which will be directed by Habib Faisal? He has studied at Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York and assisted Karan Johar on Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.

Zhu Zhu
She might be one of the very few Chinese actors to star in an Indian film, but Zhu Zhu is a popular actress in the neighbouring country. She will be making her Hindi film debut with Kabir Khan’s Tubelight opposite Salman Khan. And that's why she makes it to this list.

Nidhi Agerwal
She is yet another beauty queen to enter the tinsel town. Nidhi Agerwal is paired opposite Tiger Shroff in his keenly-awaited Munna Michael. She has been a Miss Diva contestant in 2014. She is a trained dancer in Kathak, ballet and belly dancing. As the film is all about dance, this seems to be one of the biggest reason for signing her.

Saba Qamar
She is yet another Pakistani actress to be entering the Hindi film industry. She is paired opposite Irrfan Khan in director Saket Chaudhary’s Hindi Medium. She has not been much in news as the makers aren’t making any noise about her fearing backlash for casting a Pakistani artist.
